1. Explained the method of measuring the key dimensions of the font in the illustration file, including the height of capital letters, ascender height, descender height and baseline.
2. Need to measure these values and input them into the "Metrics and Key Dimensions" window.
3. Gave a specific example: the height of capital letters 696, ascender height 733, descender height -205, x-height 500.
1. Described the process of letter combination in font design.
2. Need to consider the combination of different shapes, colors and cover line media, and avoid the anchor points being too close.
3. After the combination, pay attention to the position of the underline and finally copy and paste the letters into different cells.
Began with a few writings/sketches featuring the letters h, o, g, b

Week 09
During this week, I tried to write new words in different ways. I tried a new style.
And for the next task, I tried different writing styles. At first, I didn't know where to start, but after doing a few, I had a choice. The following are some of my explorations for this job. I used various types of markers, just to see which ones would look good after digitization.

I embarked on digitization using Adobe Illustrator. After numerous deliberations and contemplations on which option to choose, I selected the one in which I employed apen brush and endeavored to digitize it. Primarily, I utilized the pen tool to fashion the shapes to achieve my desired outcome.

4. FEEDBACK
Week 8: The Week of Independent Learning
Week 9: I digitized my sketches. Although it was not a very simple process,
I still completed it smoothly.
Week 10: In the tenth week, I completed the font design using Adobe Illustrator software. Then I imported it into FontLab and created the font.
Week11: In the eleventh week, I completed the work on this poster. I used abstract fonts to design the poster. I think it's more artistic and gives a sense of font design as well.
5. refletion
I wrote many fonts. Then I used the pen tool in the Adobe IlIustrator software to trace my digitized manuscripts. It wasn't particularly easy because it requires proficiency in using Adobe's pen tool. But I still completed it. Although I wasn't satisfied and felt quite unfamiliar, I still finished the work. This gave me a new understanding of fonts.

《Typography Essentials Revised and Updated : 100 Design Principles for
Working with Type》
Comprehensive Design Principles: This book compiles 100 essential design principles. In font selection, it details the distinct characteristics of serif fonts, like their elegance and historical depth often ideal for traditional printed materials, and sans-serif fonts' modern simplicity that suits digital platforms. Layout principles cover the artful balance of text, images, and negative space. For instance, in editorial design, text columns and image placement are optimized for readability and visual appeal. Letter-spacing principles explain how adjusting space between characters impacts legibility and aesthetic. In color-matching, it guides on creating harmony between text and background colors, such as using complementary colors for contrast in headlines.

Ms. Vitya pointed out that corporate identity holds great significance in graphic design, particularly when it comes to maintaining the consistency and clarity of a brand’s visual language. This module was designed to introduce us to the topic of identity design, helping us grasp how brands communicate and take the lead through visual representation. One of the key concepts covered was the symbol. A symbol can range from a logo and a sign to even a word—it ...

Initially, this method was only used for accounting (to meet practical needs), and later gradually developed a more recognizable writing system (the content format evolved with the expansion of usage scenarios). Indus Valley Civilization: It had two key forms of recording — first, it used "clay slabs" to write hieroglyphs (similar to clay tablets, relying on hard materials), and later switched to using "palm leaf manuscripts" for writing.
